
As far as we know, life only exists in a very narrow range of temperature and pressure. The molecules that make up life are fragile, and, if too hot, will disintegrate or, if too cold, cease to function together.
The components of a living cell are replaced many times over in the life of that cell. The ability to rebuild its components is one of the defining powers of life itself.
